THE LAND OF THE GREATEST

The largest land after Asia on the world map is the land of the greatest. The land where everything is present in full, either in the physical or in the spiritual. “Greatest” is neither flattering nor an exaltation of the land of my forefathers. No, it’s just an expression of the simple fact that Africa is the greatest of all continents on planet earth. Do you know that everything in the world is connected to Africa, be it great or little? Every continent has a link with Africa. Take it and don’t leave it, Africa is the mother of the world. The powerful economy of Europe today is built by African’s in time past. The biggest cocoa farm in South America countries are built by African slaves Africans constitute of the largest force that help America secure her independent? West African force constitutes the forces that embattle Adolph Hitler during the Second World War. It is obvious that over 70% those that make things happen in America are African Americans. Les Brown, Mike Tyson, Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson, John J. Johnson, Oprah Winfrey, Bishop T.D. K Jakes, Venus and Serena Williams, Martin Luther King Jnr etc just to mention a few are all African Americans. Asia today has the fastest growing economy in the world. But do you know that a greater percentage of their products are consumed in Africa? Africa constitute of one of the largest and greatest market to Asian product. Who said not everything is connected to Africa.
It’s obvious Africa is the world greatest. But why are all the ravages in this great land? Why is there suffering; poverty, war, hunger political and economical instability? There is abject poverty in the land of Africa. If you say no go to some countries like Chard, Congo, Niger, Mauritania even the big names like Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt and the rest of them and see for yourself. Today Africans are taken as Second citizen in some countries of the world. What a pity. But what exactly is the problem of Africa, why are we the way we are? It is simple the Almighty God has make it clear “My people perish because of lack of knowledge”.
Africans are in these unpleasant states because of lack of knowledge. Both of the fathers and of the children. African as lack knowledge and lack of knowledge result into destruction. When you lack the knowledge of God, Yourselves, others and your environment you will definitely be in doom because it takes the knowledge of the above mentioned to know your right as a man. It’s the lack of knowledge that results into slavery. Who told you the white brothers initiated slave trade? No, they are not, our forefathers initiated it, they agreed to sell out their children (future) for peanuts (gun, mirror etc). The Whites only buys what our forefathers sold to them, which is not really a crime in my own concept. Even before the whites came to Africa their have been slavery. Africa and African Parent give their children out for labor in exchange of food items; kings invade other villages and get their people for hard labor. The whites did not introduce slavery we did. Africans we need to be wise, we should start taking research, discovery and developing our products. We should stop thinking like Esau “kill, eat and destroy” (extracting and exporting) we should start thinking of extracting, processing, packing and developing. Do you know that greats percentage of electrical and electronic components are produce of petroleum residues? That is just a fraction of what some African nations loose daily. We have what it takes to leave by our name “The greatest”. Science and technology is by research and development of ideas and that can be done anywhere in the world including Africa.
African leaders are not helping the maters they are just too visionless for my liking. They amass wealth without considering the welfare of their people. Politics has become a game of come and eat in African. Most don’t have vision for their people and it takes vision to lead. “A leader without vision is the like the man in a big circle” John C Maxwell. A leader without vision is taking us nowhere. Every leader should have a vision for the people, nation and the continent as a whole. All American children are protected by the American dream but how many African nations have dreams! Normally before any leader assumes a post he/she should have a stated vision for the Assignment. Our leaders assume post without vision “How do I satisfy myself and my family is there thoughts. If we want a better Africa we need leaders that have vision
Another major problem of Africa is the people of Africa. Africans are not ready to take Africa somewhere. They put all the blames on the government forgetting the fact that Democracy defines like this “Government of the people for the people by the people” In this definition government comes in once but people comes in three time “ ratio 1:3” this implies that the people have 75% of the responsibility while the government have only 25% of it to make this continent really great. African doesn’t love themselves and their land. What they see is half empty instead of half full. Let us change our mentality and begin to play our part. Don’t you know that when you change the life of a boy you have change a generation for good, you can help by sending him through school or by a plate of meal everyday. We are prone to condemn rather than encouraging and educating the less privileged by giving a lift to a stranded man, giving a couple of advice to a frustrated youths. Immediately I finished my secondary school, i went to a nearby school to teach the students some hours after school weekly, a friend, and myself over a period of time. This serves as our contribution to the nation. If only we all can start doing something to advance the growth of Africa we shall all smile in the nearest future.
Remember the G8 can’t help us, the E.U can’t, none of the international community can we alone can help ourselves. They can only gives us, they can’t transform us. It takes Africans and Africans alone to transform Africa. Africa should help herself and stop pleading for international aid. We are the cause and can only be the solution to our problems. Take it and don’t leave it
your work is worth commending, the way you present the blacks to the outside world make us glad.
